Claudia, we need you to appear in LOST COMMAND. It's gonna revolutionize the war genre. What did you think of the script?

It might be his best movie because it has such a perfect flow, but I prefer the old hollywood charm of The Asphalt Jungle, Sierra Madre and The Maltese Falcon. I also like The Misfits quite a bit but that's more of a personal pick, same for The Night of the Iguana.

Apparently this is available for free on something called ''Crackle''.

He certainly made a lot of good 'uns. I like many of his later films as well: The Man Who Would Be King, Wise Blood, Under the Volcano, Prizzi's Honor, and The Dead.

I never read the novel but lemme tell ya, I was disappointed by this movie. It's far from great, it's almost entirely mediocre, and it's not entertaining at all. The story just didn't offer anything original or exciting/dramatic enough to get this going, and as someone here said before; when Huston didn't have a great script to work with, mediocre pictures were what the audience would get. Perhaps that's what semi-pro boxers' lives were back in the days, so I wonder why didn't they make a documentary instead? Cause it doesn't make much sense to me. Here you wait an hour and a half to hear a bunch infirm character's half-dreams wrapped up in bad lines... Bah. The performances were pretty dry and the boxing bits considerably lame.

I made it through one watch, but I don't think I'll ever watch it again.
