Just for fun...
Which film did deserve the oscar for best picture?  I have to stick with LOTR-ROTK though...  For me it's the stuff dreams are made of.

I agree with you I like escapism, so any film that takes me to a different time and place gets my vote. Everyday drama I can find in my own like and in those around me.

I've only seen two of the movies that were up for the award: Mystic River and Lost in Translation. I wouldn't have minded if either won Best Picture.

the big ape will probably go from lumbering around to super nasty aggresive alienesque creature similar to the "godzilla 2001"  makeover.  can't believe someone is making yet another version. how far can you take this '33 classic ?

what i'd like to see is a remake of "the day the earth stood still".
the michael rennie/klattu part could go to johnny depp.
