Watched it today for the first time and was somewhat disappointed, but not because the movie itself was bad but because it was falsely advertised as a ''noodle western'' (Japanese W). Not to spoil myself the pleasure I didn't search the net, and thus was quite surprised to watch a movie whose (main) plot revolves about a female restaurant owner that doesn't know how to make good soup or noodles. I was waiting for some dirty outlaw to pop out from the back...

Anyways - it's a funny and entertaining movie, albeit a little ''Orientally strange''. I guess that makes it perfect for those ''foreign culture junkies'' out there. Some explorations of the links between food and sexuality I didn't like at all (the shrimps must have had a great time), it seemed completely out of place.

No matter how cleverly you sneak up on a mirror, the reflection always looks you straight in the eye.
