People scare better when they're dying.

« : March 29, 2004, 06:54:27 PM »

This site is great!  I found this website while searching for Sergio Leone fansites and I had to put a link on my website.  For a Few Dollars More and Once Upon a Time in the West inspired me more than any other films to shoot my first feature next month.  I had no idea there were this many Spaghetti Western fans out there.  I almost wanted to shoot the film with no audio and then dub in the voices to pay homage, but that might be risking it.  What do you think?  www.judgesthemovie.com    8)

Welcome  :)
As you say, your inspiration from these films should let
you to dub the voices afterwords.
As a disclamer, I must say that I have no experience
in the film industry whatsoever  ;D

DeMaie, I'm gonna hold you responsible if this thing flops because of the dubbing.  Just kidding.  You don't have to have a disclaimer.  Nobody knows anything about the film industry.  If we did, we would always have successful movies.

First, welcome.
Then, I shot movies too (I have a western to shot in France). If I can advice you, you should take sounds in live, because if you don't arrive to doub after, your movie will be not very good. If you don't have experience in dubbing or in shoting movies, take sound in live because it's very difficult...

Yeah, you're right.  Better to be safe than sorry.  Plus that had to be so much work for Leone on the post-production side of his films.  Every sound had to be specially placed in.  Man.  His guys probably worked around the clock, but they deserved an award. 8)

Check out the trailer for the independent film JUDGES.  It's a modern-day spaghetti western.  You Leone fans will love it.

 ;)

Hello Sergio Leone friends,

I have to say I am a HUGE fan. My Saturdays were filled with watching these classic Westerns. I have gone on to produce and star in movies...see WICKED SPRING, a Civil War action/drama at most Video stores. Anyway, a recent project JUDGES, is a modern western that is part MAD MAX and part LEONE. Director Stephen Walker and I both wanted to honor Leone and we did...I hope:) All the shots are classic Leone. So I invite you'all to take a 1st look at a trailer that just played at the Virginia Beach Film Festival in Oct.. www.judgesthemovie.com
Please sign the book there and feel free to comment on the message boards and then I'll meet ya back here.

Thank you so much. This is a dream come true to even get to play in this worlds.

We're not worthy!

Very cool, completely Leone-esque.  You guys nailed it, I love all the head turns into the closeups.  You even have the spanish horn soundtrack!  ;D

Release is in 2005 - any more specifics?

Good luck, looks great.

(CJ, you need to install Apple Quicktime to view this)

Aaronson, you're a harsh man!  Dude, it's total Sergio - and we just had a long thread not long ago about remaking a SW.  This is it, right down to the trumpet solo.

i'm not saying it's anything special... looks like a pretty damn good movie though... i wouldn't say this is it... or total sergio... although i'd prefer something like this that leans that way but it's still not a western.

very impressive. when in 2005 is it going to be released?

i am guessing it isnt getting a wide release. or is it?

u sir are at where i want to get to. i finished making my spaghetti western in march. but of course not a big production budget such as youres. 200 dollars was all i had. a story about bandits killing a boys dog and of course the boy wants revenge. it last 30 min.
