Thanks Dave, 'appreciate it!

Regarding the master: I thought it was great when I made the documentary (I don't have the final Blu-ray here yet...).
And I saw a beautiful (new) 35mm print in LA years that looked about the same. Rich Lucien Ballard - colors...
Maybe your TV-set needs adjustment?

Also, when one sees the DVD beaver screen shots, they look fine to me. It was filmed in the summer anyway, people aren't
that pale for that reason maybe Smiley.

The new CC Barry Lyndon looks just great on my monitor, no adjustment was required.

UPDATE: Just re-checked the specs. No mention is made of either a 4K or 2K scan, something they would certainly tout if it had occurred. The only reason NOT to do one of those scans would be that the source doesn't warrant it. Sure sounds like they used an older master to me.

That's what you get, Drink, for being such an annoying Melville fanboy.

Well, the master came from Disney and to me it looks very good.
It IS A MIRACLE anyway that the film is out on Blu now.
I tried for many years through befriended labels, to no avail.
Disney is very difficult.

I'm very grateful for that release.
