This is truly an off-topic subject, but the news are to good to be ignored. Since so many on this board share similar tastes in movies, comics, and music, I thought I'd mention that legendary Pixies are back together. They start touring this spring, and rumours have it that it is working out very well... how come they have always been more popular in Europe than in the U.S?

look at the reaction of the americans to sergio leone wen he released all his great films!!!

'Tedium in the tumbleweed': thats wot the New York Times called OUATITW: wot do they know

No offence meant to all u americans out there!! ;)

But seriously, the pixies are great and in my opinion theyre way better than nirvana - who by the way would not have been anything like they were without the pixies

Yes, the old proud city of Boston has now been invaded by the Canadians, and the US will need to go to war against them - just like in South Park  ;)

Nope, Boston is very much US.

I was just thinking...

There are two kinds of people in this world my friend, people who think "Where is my mind?" was made cooler by being used in Fight Club, or people who think Fight Club was made cooler cos it had "Where is my mind?" in it.

I'm in the 2nd group. Fight club was good but Pixies are better.

Cheers Blueberry for starting this topic. I used to absolutely love The Pixies and was lucky enough to see them three times in 89, 90, and 1991. The first at Birmingham Hummingbird still remains my favourite ever gig. Awesome!!!
Will go see them again but it's near impossible to get tickets.
You should check out the recently released DVD. It has brilliant footage of The Pixies supporting Throwing Muses in 1988.

Demtro las pinones y las holas `riquena. Oh my golly!!

Hi Simon - Lucky you, lucky you... I have only seen Frank Black live a couple of times - great, but not the Pixies..

They are playing in some weeks time at a Festival called Roskilde  (with Bowie, Ben Harper, Franz Ferdinand, Hives, Morrissey, Muse, Fiery Furnaces, Santana, Wu Tang Clan and Zero 7.. not to mention Korn, but I cant stand them)
 - but I can't go!!!

 A  AAAAaaaaaaaaAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaa  a  !!!

.. from "Dune" by the way - a movie for which I have always had a soft spot.. just the way Sting says:

"I WILL kill him"....

phew, good to get my mind busy with something else.

Yeah, life's a bitch.
Here in the UK we had four dates which sold out in minutes and some festival appearances, one of which is V2004 with bands such as The Strokes, Kings Of Leon, Muse and BRMC.
Also check out  www.pixiesmusic.com  Pixies heaven!!! It also has a brilliant forum.

Got me a movie ha ha ha ha!
