I always thought so just like Tuco since he looks darker and his sideburns/mustache and also Sentenza being his other name.

I dunno. Sentenza Mortimer doesn't sound all that Mexican to me. ;)

Sentenza is only his name in the Italian cut, so I don't think that should factor into our determination. At least if certain members' distinction between "BBC" and "GBU" is to be upheld.

I never thought he was Mexican, just a tough, worn-out, perpetually-tanned hombre who's spent too much time in the desert.

Smoke Tuco, so you can't bullshit!

I never thought he's one, but then again - who could tell what ethnicity spawned him/her in the days of the OW, really?

If he's not then i like to think of him that way, it sounds cooler or he could be a mix which would make his villains be all different, Ramon just Mexican, Indio mix Indian/Mexican, Sentenza Anglo/Mexican, Frank Anglo.

I brought up the same topic but of Frank from OUATITW. My evidence for that one being his semi-handle-bar mustache in the flashback and his gaucho hat. I also thought the same for Angel Eyes for the above reasons and he dons a similar hat, but the more I think about it the less I think so in both cases.

There's no evidence indicating either character is......but then again, there is no evidence either character isn't.

Frank's definitely supposed to be white. Didn't Leone make a comment calling the killing of Harmonica's brother a lynching?

Either that or we have a Touch of Evil situation. But then Cheyenne's supposed to be Mexican so it's not impossible.

I absolutely don't think he is Mexican, not even slightly.
He is far too sophisticated* - Surely Leone would not have portrayed him like that had been Mexican.

* No that is not my personal view....

Would a mexican have been able to make officer in the yankee army?

The Captain teased Tuco that he could've been an officer, even Colonel !!!

Funny thing, Tuco actually believed him for a second !!

Angel Eyes is a Sergeant. Not an officer.

Ok but you know what I mean. Is it likely that a mexican would make rank?

He may not have come by his rank legitimately (that is, he probably killed a sergeant and took his uniform and documents).

Anyway, AE comes from landed gentry in Virginia--I mean, Carolina.
