Where life had no value death sometimes had its price ...........so the Bounty killers appeared..............Wow who thought up that line..........Nice touch to set tone for film and kind of spooky feel to it.

I also like the Fonts used in the opening sequence and the humour in the gunshots shooting at the credits......Leone's name being shot away is really saying to me ...........dont take this film to seriously..at the end of the day its entertainment......Its a brilliant opening ..surprised no one came up with idea before or after............or do I stand corrected ???
PS....... Where is the next Leone ????........possibly not born yet

WTF?

I agree that there is something very special about that opening bit of text. It's like saying "so this is why what you are about to see happened"
Something else that makes this film very unique. Or by definition - simply, unique.

I seem to recall The Tin Star having a similar epigram at the beginning.

I don't like it. It sounds too corny.

Those line come at the end of the opening:

I always thought of them musicallly as a a rest bar between an ultra fast opening and three ultra fast introductory scenes. They have a tranquillizer effect on me. And I don't find them corny at all.

How do the Italian titles read? Maybe Mickey Knox--or whoever--didn't do such a good job translating them into English?

I know the relevance....Doh! It was supposed to be tongue in cheek humour..you know....you quote something incorrectly, so I say "if your gonna quote...quote...blah blah" ....get it?

ICE

ps......and I dont recall TUCO saying "or am I being to picky"....get it again.......LOL
