I am watching this for like the 10th time, and I just can not find it any fault. This is a great movie, from start to finish.

9/10

It's also boring from time to time, has no strong moments apart from the crash, and has that never ending feeling during the last 30 minutes.

You gotta be kidding me, man...

Has no ''strong moments'' ? What about the moment when Wilson drifts off? What about the moment after the welcome party, when he takes one leg of that huge crab (or whatever it was) ? What about his friend telling him his wife had passed away while he was gone? What about his girlfriend getting married to some other guy?

What about... wait a second...

...what movie were you watching, anyway?

And removing a tooth with an ice skate. You gotta give credit for that!

If there aren't any flaws why not a 10/10?

Name your best(s) of the kind, then.

I kept thinking while watching it for the first 3 or 4 times it was a remake of some older movie, but couldn't remember which one. And I still can't. It's either that movie doesn't exist, or I don't know nothing about it.

Of course, anything having to do with Robinson Crusoe excluded. Cheesy

9-and above out of 10 is the domain of preferences, for me at least.

Here's one: I would really like if there was a flashback thrown in every now and then, when he's alone on the island. (Although the movie is excellent without them.) To connect the whole picture better.

Here's two: it's either I never had the opportunity to see the best cut, but a panoramic view of the whole island would have been great. I think you can see the bigger portions of the island only towards the end of the movie, when he's about to leave. You can see how small the island really is, that is. Before that, you can only see what is in front of him. There is a logic behind that, I understand, the viewer sees as much of the island as the main protagonist can see. Still, logic is of little use with preferences.

That second point is a really good one.

Anyway similar films, "Man In The Wilderness" (1971) Richard Harris left for dead in the American West

There are lots of accounts in historical journals of similar situations though of course.

Name your best(s) of the kind, then.
This would require some more thinking but two films that come to my mind right away are A Man Escaped and Rescue Dawn. Though, the former of is a prison break movie and the latter is not really a favorite of mine. Kanal tells a story of a group of people but their struggle is at least as great as Tom Hanks's. And of course Nanook and The Man of Aran, but they also tell about families, although very strongly lead by a patriarch. Westward the Women is a story of a group of women. OK, if you want exactly "one guy's struggle for survival" I guess I can't name any movie better than Cast Away (which is a pretty good movie). But if we expand the search to "man against nature" or "fight for existence" then I can name several (as pointed above).
