The Fugitive is quite good, but... it's still just a Les Mis ripoff. TLJ surely rocks, he always does.

Just seen:

The Duellists (1977) - 9/10

If Ridley Scott COULD make a realistic, historically accurate movie, then what happened to him when he directed Gladiator?

But this one is simply beautiful. Like historical paintings. All those uniforms, hairstyles, characters, everything very true to the era and believeable. And man, is young Keith Carradine handsome!  Wink Plus you get badass obsessed Harvey Keitel + some really good, realistic fight scenes, no Flynning. The landscape and the colours are also gorgeous.

This movie needs more love. It's not too well-known.

I met a guy in Perigord who was fond of taking photos of places shown in movies. This place of France is called "the region with more than 1.000 castles", which is a great place for his hobby. He showed me pics from places where they shot parts of duellists. He was a cool guy, but far too talky for me Smiley

The Duelists stinks, just like 90% of Scott's output.

Hm... wasn't it him who directed Thelma and Louise?

I watched it a while ago and enjoyed it, I'll try to re-watch it and post my thoughts here when I get the chance.

I think DJ at some point posted some nice stills somewhere on the board.

Just out of curiosity: which titles fall in that remaining 10 percent? The Apple commercials he did?

Indeed. Don't know where, though. When I saw that this thread was started I looked for them and can't find 'em. Huh

It must be some related topic, but in the OF section. That much I know. Think, dave, think.

I agree with the 90% sucks comment.

when he hits, he hits big - Blade Runner and Alien - but everything else pretty much sucks save for Black Rain. I haven't seen Legend, that might be a fun movie.

Claudia, we need you to appear in LOST COMMAND. It's gonna revolutionize the war genre. What did you think of the script?

That river witch is a frightening image and Tim Currey's make up is neat but the film is pretty dull.
Especially the climax in the main villain's underworld.
