Title: Blondie hanging scene
Post by: iceman on February 22, 2019, 09:37:34 AM
Hi Guys...been a fair while,

Watched GBU again for the umpteenth time recently. Not sure if this has been raised before....always wondered how Blondie got out of the noose when TUCO was about to shoot the legs off the stool in the hotel. Im sure he wouldnt have had time to release the noose and get down from the stool in the split second after the shell lands and th floor collapses...so how did he do it?

If memory serves correctly Tuco gets Blondie to put the rope around his own neck, but he never actually ties Blondie's hands behind his back.

The whole scene Tuco is sitting on that table or ledge and then steps forward to point his gun and BOOM!

I started a list once detailing where pure serendipity helped in GBU.  The cannon/hanging scene for sure.  Stevens blurting out information about the hidden gold when Angel Eyes knew nothing about that.  The carriage in the dessert at the perfect time.  Tuco and Blondie being so close to Mission San Antonio.  Tuco and Blondie ending up in prison camp where Angel Eyes was.  Angel Eyes overhearing that Wallace had called out "Bill Carson".  Tuco who knew so much about guns (shop scene) couldn't get Wallace's pistol to work.  Tuco finding his way to the town where Blondie and Angel Eyes were.  Others as well....
