He claims that BARRY LYNDON'' duel was inspired by OITIW!

Well Kubrick explicitely said the music was "the closer we could get from Morricone [while arranging classical music]". I do have that interview. I don't think he ever mentioned Leone.

Kubrick contacted Leone about Morricone and
asked him why he only liked the music wrote for him, Leone.
Later he contacted Morricone about doing the score for CLOCKWORK ORANGE.
According to Frayling , Kubrick asked Leone how he was able to synchronize music and image so successfully.
He claims the duel in LYNDON waz inspired by Leone's gunfight set to music
