For Fistful of Dollars: "wind and fire" replaced "with the wind" from the Peter Tevis recording of "Pastures of Plenty".

Your article is very informative, interesting and useful. I have enjoyed reading it and considering the many good thoughts in your content. I agree with numerous points and others need my full concentration to consider.

Which book?

Note that some of this book is very technical and best fit for those with more musical knowledge than I.

I liked the book.  It was a little over my head technically, I have trouble operating a car stereo !!!

I do have a decent ear for music though, like noticed title track from "Day of Anger" in a current Nissan TV commercial.

Ah yes, this one was a bit on the "denser" or heavier side in terms of understanding. But I found it quite enjoyable. residential furnace and duct cleaning (https://www.airductcleaningwinnipeg.com/)

Another item of interest was that Leone wanted/got Morricone to use some music similar to the pocketwatch music in the middle of the Trio/gunfight music.

Oh yes I notice it every time I watch it. Does he give a reason in the book?

Is it just me or are there a bunch of weird posts on this board by one time posters who also likely posted spam links?
Should I ban them all?

No. But I like that inclusion.

Yep nice one. I always wonder whether it was something Leone and Morricone liked as a "quiet suspens before the music rises" or a little nod to the previous film.

Yes

just banned them

(a couple weird posts were made by first-time users who did not post links; I left them alone for now. But the ones who posted links, which obviously are spam, are gone.)

We have not had any spam for quite a while, as we have a good scheme to prevent that now. It's strange how a bunch of spammers suddenly happened to wind up on this one thread  :D

Why can't it be both?

Why can't it be both?

Theoretically, it could be. For me I don't think it works: I experience it as a nod to FAFDM, which kinds of get me out of the moment ("the moment" was a huge tension the first couple of times I saw the movie, now it's a big abstract emotion that has more to do with listening to music than to follow a story) because it reminds me i'm watching a movie and that there is a similar one on my DVD/BD shelf.
