hi again guys, just read on wikipedia that the reason why Tuco calls Clint 'Blondie' in GBU is because it is a Mexican nickname for a White American, something that i dont even think Frayling picks up on. This would serve to answer my long-held confusion regarding this, and also Angel-Eyes' order to his minions: "I want that blonde alive", he was couching it in those terms.

He also says "a golden haired angel watches over him"

I have to say, that's some pretty cool hair
-
That hair is especially cool when you consider that Blondie has been out in the desert, if only for a little while. It's just so perfectly maintained.
I give Blondie credit for keeping his hair so nice and trim when he's got a killer on his tracks.
-
Actually...his hair is more of a sand color. Shoulda called him "Sandy". ::)

Nah!!.."i want that sandy alive" doesn't have the same ring about it, neither does..." Hey Sandy....you know what you are...just a dirty son of ahahahaha!"...........know what I mean ;) ;) ;) ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Ya, no ring. Actually, Van Cleef might say "I want that Sand alive" as he says Blonde not Blondie
-
"I want that Sand alive"
lol that would be a terrific line. ;D

I think he's called Blondie not because he's actually blonde, but because he has lighter hair and skin that many of the other characters he comes across.
It could be just some sort of a joke, or another name for a white person, or just a silly nickname.
Maybe Leone thought that Eastwood was blonde?
Who knows?
-
Another thing I never understood, this whole Blondie thing.
But I would agree with this:

Sandy means in the Hungarian slang "gay". In English too?

If I saw it written down I wouldn't make the association.
If someone said "I'm Sandy" in a high pitched voice - a bit like Kenneth Williams (Julian & Sandy) in Round The Horne - probably.
There again if someone said "I'm Blondie" in a high pitched voice :-X
