Title: Leone filming locations website updated
Post by: Ramon on June 28, 2003, 07:49:46 AM
All,

I've just updated the FDM and GBU comparion picture sections of my website from photos taken in May this year.

Please take a look and tell me what you think.

I've got many more photos to add to my site over the next few weeks too.

Halis,

yes I did, I'll add the pictures to my site shortly. In the meantime here are a couple of photos.

Terrific.

Did the Goatherd say much?

And did you see any sign of Cattle Corner?

There were hundreds of goats and sheep there, I never realised that they could smell so much! The air even tasted of sheep! Even the hotel where Jill takes a bath in Flagstone has been adapted into a building for use by the farmers. (The upper photo of the 2 Flagstone buildings I posted earlier).

No sign of Cattle Corner, I'm still unsure as to the exact location.

I was also looking for Tucumcari from FDM. With that one there is the giveaway clue of Calahorra Castle in the background when LVC gets of the train. That was a single line track unlike the mainline double track at Estacion de Calahorra (which runs in the wrong direction for Tucumcari).

I found the map below on the day we left the area and ran out of time to retrace my steps and look for the railway lines going in the direction of the mines at Cerro Minero. Maybe next time!

If anyone knows where Tucumari and Cattle Corner are on the above map I'd love to know.

I'm nearly sure that Tucumcari-Cattle Corner location is exactly above the "s" of "Marquesado" word.
I have been there in the early days of June. I have filmed about 3 hours in DV format of many locations. Now i send you a short videoclip filmed at the crossroad between the railway (today removed) and the GR 820 road, and some frames of the movies to make comparison. You can use it in your site, if you want.
I'm looking to make my own site  with a .com domain (depends how much it cost). If you like the smell of the sheeps i have found a big surprise in the Cabo de Gata area. See you later.

Thanks for sending the video clip and photos through. I can post your pictures on this site if you would like me to.

Please let us know about the Cabo De Gata sheep surprise.

You can post everything. I can't because i don't have a web space to link the photos and videos here.

The sheep surprise is a little secret. If i will not be able to have my own site i will say all (but probably i will be able).
Now i email you some questions and informations if you return to Spain soon. Better to search locations never seen before than the ones that everybody know.
I explored around the town of El Cabo de Gata in search of the famous desert dunes where Blondie was carried by Tuco. I only found the "invernadores" (how say in english? Greenhouse? Hothouse?) that invades all the area. Maybe the sand is gone with the wind. Here is not true that desert gets wider!
