According to Internet Movie Data Base (IMDB.com), 40 years ago today December 29, 1967
"The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" premiered in the USA.

Remember the discussion about the 40th anniversary of
"Il Buono, Il Brutto, Il Cattivo"  (BBC)

Well happy anniversary to the English translation of BBC
and premier of GBU to the American audience!

CHEERS!

According to Frayling, the GBU premier wasn't until January, but he may well be wrong about that. The English dubbing of the film apparently occurred in Oct-Nov. of 67, so I guess a December premier was possible. Anyway, thanks, sadhill, for remembering to note this date. Let's hear it for the version that features the actual voices of LVC, Eli Wallach, and Clint Eastwood. Blows that lame-ass Italian version right out of the water.
