Once Upon A Time In The West / Re: Greatest Western.
« on: April 18, 2009, 12:46:23 PM »
I'd say that honor goes to GBU. OUTITW is"great" but not a favorite of ine and although I love i's look, its get to be a bit much by the end. Besides, GBU has been voted the greatest western several times by several polls.

I wonder what a timeline of the entire Dollars films would like?

I've always loved Blondie's gun. With it's fancy snake engraving.

Wallach is so convincing as a Mexican, I feel weird every time I here him talk accent free.

I'd say you are obsessed when you enjoy seeing women mistreated. Or have over 300.

Wallach himself states he could never do those things with a gun. He didn't do much twirling or anything too fancy in How the West

I think Bronson was a great choice for this role. Calm and collective.

Duck, You Sucker / Re: Thoughts on this film

I thought this film was good. Enjoyable but Leone's slow pacing often seems out of place and as a result, several stretches in the film are boring.

Wallach also wasn't experienced in quick draw or twirling. So he had the lanyard.

Film Locations / Monuement Valley
« on: April 13, 2009, 08:28:05 PM »
I've always wondered why the US critics seemed to hate Leone's use of Monuement Valley. It suits his films but is a little bit obvious in his imitation of Ford. What are your thoughts?

It obviously deals with the cost and horrors of war. From a perspective of both sides.

Friendship etc.

Corruption of gold.

This explostion is quite an effect for a film made in 66'. Even a film with a relativley low budget comparativley.
