my favorite is noodles. yeah he turns out to be a killer and a rapist, but had dominic not been shot; he would've turned out much the same. i love the fact that noodles doesn't shoot max in the end. it shows the difference between him and max. noodles may be a horrible person, but he did not betray his friends. and max did exactly that. as far as cockeye and patsy, they are both just average dumb thugs. they were never any good anyway in my opinion.

i agree completely, pesci is short and fat(kinda) and max is tall. no way. even though the face of the courpse is badly burned, you can still see that it's a much longer face then pesci's

i disagree, first of all you can clearly see that it's pesci.
as far as him being cut, i doubt it. if you really think about it, this is not a gangster film, it's a film about friendship, love and betrayal. i think that having more scenes with pesci wouldn't have been needed. but whatever number he gets in the titles, is probably due to him being a great and famous actor.

yeah i got this set online many years ago, because it was advertised as the 227 minute set. in fact it turned out to be a 226 minute set, so i returned it. it was good quality and all, but it was edited. the cover was good though...

actually that doesn't sound crazy at all. one of the reasons that i haven't gotten it yet is that i wouldn't want to open it. so i would need to buy two like you... if you are serious about being buried with it, that is pretty impressive! but if i had to chose one movie(english) to be buried with it would without a doubt be ouatia! i guess i will look into getting a couple of these. ha! thank you though!

Once Upon A Time In America / Re:How could it possibly be a dream?
« on: August 29, 2003, 03:21:18 PM »
i agree completely that the smile is brought on by opium. i belive that '68 was not a dream in any way. but of course noodles could not have known that in '33. so there was no reason for a smile, especially such a dumb one...

i agree with a lot of what you say. i mean it would be hard to disagree - they were definite partners in crime. and they were childhood friends. but i insist that max did not love noodles. of course he wanted him out of prison and back in the gang. cockeye and patsy weren't able to mastermind anything. they were secondary partners. had max loved noodles he wouldn't have gotten the throne!
besides max never lost noodles to deborah. noodles always went when max called him.

right! i feel that after max realized what a scum bag he was he decided to use the truck for himself. or did he?..
