In AFOD & AFDM it was green and probably faded to brown and in GBU Clint wore it brown outward, and it still retained it's green color on the underside and also seen brown/green on display years later.

if you compare that Google Maps street view image to the screen caps from OUATIA a few pages back on this thread http://www.fistful-of-leone.com/forums/index.php?topic=8376.60

you can tell, it's nearly 100% certain that this is indeed the building they used.


Somebody should email A1 about this, cuz he got it wrong. On his fantastic site http://msb247.awardspace.com/indxloc.htm click "Filming Locations" on the top left corner, then click "Montreal," and he says that the scene where "Noodles Goes to a Reformatory for Boys" was filmed in Montreal. Well, he is wrong about that.

I don't see any contact info for him on his website, but I know he used to be on these boards and I figger some of y'all may have contact with him; if any of you do, definitely let him know about this so he can update his site.

None of you guys asked about Sergio during your "visiting" at McSorley's ?

I did, and it went like this...

We visited McSorley's in the morning of a day of november 2010, coming from Hoboken Rail Station (my previous photos), so, after observing all the stuff hanged on the walls, I started talking to the man in white shirt behind the counter, visible in the pictures below, and I said: "Excuse me sir, how long have you been workin' here ?"

and he said: "me ?  oh... more than thirty years"

and I: "have you ever heard of Mr Leone, the movie director ?"

and he: "Yeah... Sergio... of course... "

and I: "really ?  what do you remember about him ? "

and he: "Sergio went crazy for one of our sandwiches... and he used to say one day or another I will shoot a movie inside here... and he did"

and I: "he did... what a great movie OUATIA"

and he:"great movie... something to drink ?"

and I: "yes sir, please give us a couple of beers... "

and we went almost drunk... terrific morning that day of november in NYC

My suggestion ?   TRY YOURSELF !!!









sorry for the low quality of the images... that's the clue we were almost (maybe totally) drunk, but very very happy

Any way I know there should be some sites in Italy for this film didn't they shoot the young noodles and max with the salt sacks & bootleg liquor in the waters around Mestre?, and was the hotel location on the Lido of Venice, I though I heard that mentioned once? You could do some scouting right there.
