The Good, The Bad and The Ugly / GBU soundtrack inconsistncy?
« on: January 29, 2006, 07:43:28 AM »
Is it just me or does the soundtrack on the CD differ from that in the film? The bit I noticed was the final showdown - on screen there is a bit where the music stops for a few seconds and the tinkly bells ease you softly back into it again, right in the middle of the build up to the gunfire. However on the soundtrack CD this bit isn't present and it seems to be missing a final chord as well. Am I mad or has anyone else noticed this?

Whats the best way to learn how to do it? Couldnt find any online resources on how to learn it. Basically up to the kind of level you see Clint do when putting his gun in its holster?

General Discussion / The costumes

How accurate to the time periods the films were set in were all the costumes used in Leone's spaghetti westerns (in general) and where did he get them all from?

General Discussion / Why Spaghetti?

What was it that motivated Leone to shoot in Italy instead of America? I think I heard somewhere that it was cheaper - does this mean cheaper overall to a western in Italy rather than Amercia or cheaper for Leone, being Italian based to use Italian crew and resources etc?

General Discussion / Looking for resources
« on: January 14, 2006, 09:59:48 PM »
I got into Westerns for the first time after seeing a clip from Fistfull of Dollars one day and being completely gobsmacked as I had never thought Westerns could look like this before.

So anyway I love all Leone's films to bits but am not completely clued up on the histortical side of things yet, though I am reading up on it. What I am really looking for is a site or book that would be a good resource for ascertaining things like clothing, equipment, guns, etc and relating them to the time period(s).

Any help would be much appreciated :)
