A Fistful of Dollars / Graveyard scenes equal to GBU's
« on: December 24, 2019, 02:14:33 PM »
I think the graveyard scenes in FOD are equal in quality to GBU's. The first part with Silvanito there is a somber like tranquil tone there which actually captures that unique sense at a real graveyard even if they're just talking and putting the bodies there showing how even without action there is this extraordinariness. The next the shootout with everyone shows the noduueling action.

A Fistful of Dollars / Favorite sound track from this movie?
« on: March 15, 2015, 01:05:14 PM »
Leone and Morricone both went into the theater after the movie's release maybe before or after FADM to watch it yet both agreed the soundtrack was not up to snuff and they could have done better according to the frayling bio. The soundtrack here is still really good though whats your favorite track on here…youtube has the ost for it. i'm going to not post my fav yet so i don't influence others choices  O0

General Discussion / Dollars trilogy vs Man with no Name trilogy
« on: March 05, 2015, 07:11:55 PM »
What do you call it?
I used to be for Dollars because it's more accurate since only the first has Clint starring while the others they have other stars but lately i do think Man with No Name just sounds more cinematic even though it's less accurate, the image of it and all.

General Discussion / Leone's fatness, eating habit
« on: March 01, 2015, 08:54:02 PM »
This is something kind of just known he was a chubby guy but there's really no explanation why he was that way. Aside from the Frayling bio all that was said about it was "he had Epicurean tastes" aaaand that's pretty much it but it goes without saying that a lot of physical knacks of people are mirrors of their psychology, glasses aside this is really like his trademark appearance. So why did he eat so much without a care ? Really look at the other contemporaries of his time, other directors, really only Hitchcock was fat, all those people in photos with him he basically is usually the only fat guy there.

1)was he simply eating to mask some insecurities? Frayling bio hints that he did have insecurity about trying to go to the goalpost for the greatness of his movies but also fearing it at the same time.

2)was it actually a reflection of his status as the ultimate guy when he reached his position of making movies he let it go so to speak after having to be the 'assistant' in the 50s?

3)was it in his indulgence in trying to have as much bodily pleasure as possible maybe because to offset the stress of being a workaholic in the movie industry?

4)Epicurean: he craved only pleasure?

5)Einstein affect, who thought so much he didnt think about his hair, Leone thought so much about movie making he didnt think about his weight.

5
These are the main influences to each of his works, and what about the unknown ones?

Fistful: Yojimbo
Fora a few: Vera Cruz
GBU: Don Quixote
West: ?
Duck: GBU Redux
America: Via Glorioso aka semi autobio?

Of his own personal fav of his was it West or America? It felt either of these assumed from reading the frayling book.

General Discussion / Why did he become producer in the 70s?
« on: October 28, 2014, 12:09:25 AM »
Not that theres anything wrong with that, seems like after he was done with his awesomeness he figured "i've done too much awesome, time to make others have the same level of awesome..."

General Discussion / When did he start wearing glasses?
« on: June 22, 2014, 02:03:22 AM »
Kind of obvious question. Neither of his parents from the pics had them so it was not genetic or was it?

General Discussion / Did Leone read books?
« on: June 05, 2014, 11:16:09 PM »
Was wondering this image of him is running around on film sets , then coming to his place later at night to touchup scripts (like said in the bio) or running around at restaurants, whatever. But did he enjoy reading books for his own pleasure?? Or was he a word of mouth type of person.

A Fistful of Dollars / Fistful underrated among Leone's movies?
« on: May 31, 2014, 01:01:38 AM »
Anyone think that this is underrated still because despite it being lower budget, his first personal one, more simplistic that people say "it's a good one, but of course he topped himself constantly afterward", well i honestly would say that this is truly his 3rd best movie behind the other two Dollars flicks. Yes even over Once Upon a Time in the West! Why? Because Once is him at his most directorial, more introspective, while Fistful is simple b-movie comic book style, to me that is actually more powerful of a thing to do, there is this energy and vibrancy to Fistful, which encapsulates the whole Dollars trilogy -- to me this is more powerful than even the Once Upon Trilogy.

General Discussion / "I've faced every injustice known"
« on: May 30, 2014, 01:14:28 PM »
He said this as quoted in the bio or maybe some other interview posted here, and then one wonders, what kind of injustices he has faced?  Like for example, did he ever get robbed? Arrested? Beatup? Get STDs??

I recently recovered some 3gp video files from an android phone and am able to view some but then there are others that cannot be played even though they were also recovered (the playable files have a pic from the vid on the cover while the nonplayable files dont). Can anyone help me out or someone that knows? Tried to convert the files into other formats using programs like Prism Video File Converter Video Converter and Freemake Video Converter but no go, it couldnt read them. Help me please.
