Off-Topic Discussion / Gone with the Wind
« on: November 23, 2006, 12:18:29 PM »
I wondered if the lyrics from Woody Gutheries Pastures
of Plenty was the inspiration for Margaret Mitchells book
Gone with the Wind.It was about this era that both appeared.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly / Alessandro Alessandroni
« on: October 24, 2006, 04:16:59 AM »
I am dissapointed that Allessandro Alessanrdroni and his
I Cantori Moderni have not had the recognition for all the work they have have done in contributing to the success of Ennio Morricone. The unique sound is the major success of the Morricone soundtracks. This is also true of Edda.No matter how many times you here the Good,Bad,Ugly played by an orchestra, nothing comes close to the Allessandro Alessandroni version.I think he should share equal status to Morricone.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly / Desert Scene
« on: April 27, 2006, 04:27:39 PM »
I remember seeing somewhere (Fraylings book I think)
there is a deleted scene when Tuco walks Blondie across the desert ,he (Tuco) urinates in the water bottle ,and passes it to Blondie to drink. Is this the case?
or am I dreaming ?

A Fistful of Dollars / Ramons hand
« on: April 09, 2006, 02:17:00 PM »
This a question I have pondered since 1964 when I first saw the still
photo of Ramon holding the Winchester rifle.
Why is his right hand been photographically altered
in this still.? If you wonder what I am rambling on about
look at the photo of Ramon holding the rifle on page 142 of Fraylings "Spaghetti Westerns".I'm sure some eagle eye out there must have wondered also

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly / Continuity of triology
« on: January 14, 2006, 03:03:36 PM »
My own feelings on the dollar trilogy is this.......
Sergio Leone was not interested in creating a trilogy.
He had a runaway success with FOD and went straight ahead with FFDM followed by GBU. It was only afterwards that the ad men got involved that the idea
of the triology and man with no name was born.
I feel that given more time instead of the break neck
speed in which these three films were made ,I feel that some thought would have been conceived into creating some thought of continuity .Thus we are left with continuing dilemas of the connection of the three films.
I think you have to see them as three seperate films.
The advertising men wanted to capitalise on the the
success of FOD.

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly / Triology
« on: April 27, 2005, 10:38:51 AM »
Can anyone throw light on the following:

Fistful of dollars made 1964
For a few dollars more 1965

Good bad Ugly  1966

My question is I saw FOD in 1967 when it was first relesed in UK and USA. How was it Leone finished
Good bad ugly in 1966 before the cult really took off ?.

I await your knowledgable replies. Its a mystery to me.
