Hi Dave,

Sorry for such a long absence. My life has changed oh so many ways. Although I don't have a blu-ray player yet, it's good to hear that Criterion is releasing "Three Outlaw Samurai" in Blu-ray. I was fan of this series since it was on TV before it became a theatrical feature. Let me know how it looks.

Thank you Novecento for the info. It was worth the wait  :) I did get the Korean DVD. I enjoyed the uncut for the first time.

Thank you, TH. I wonder if this illustration includes more than her head. A very good rendering.

I have been out of town lately, so if somebody else has mentioned this already, please forgive me. TH, the artwork of Jill you are using as the signature is excellent. Are you the artist?

I would give a perfect rating to Le Cercle Rouge. Melville reached the ultimate spriritual state of Haiku world called "Wabi-Sabi (not to be mistaken with wasabi, I'll tell ya ;D) with this film. Melville is one of few (or maybe only one) foreign film makers who understood Asian philosophies (not perfectly but close) and could create his own unique world based on them.

The above films are all good. This is another release I'm looking forward to this month.

That is quite interesting. I wonder if the story is really related to Leone's idea.

You're welcome Dave. I went all the way to Japan to get this ultimate edition (and to get some business done). I probably have saved other curious members money as well.  ;D

Thank you LA for the info! Two out of three is not bad (although it's not complete still). Seems like the German edition is the closest to the complete length.

As for "Django," I'm afraid to say that quality of the cover printing is not good. It's like a second generation copy. Details are washed out. It's not worth buying. Take my word and save your hard earned money, Firecracker. You can be content with your BU copy.

I have not seen the German edition but please tell me if it has the following scenes in full length.

1. Conversation between Mortimer and the sheriff. Does the sheriff say, "His name is Monco"?
2. Indio's insane laugh before the cut to the poster.
3. Beating scene. Does Indio stop the beating?
