Well its not just good enough to kill Ramon.......You have to send him to the grave proving that Joe was better with his pistol then Ramon was with his rifle..............When a man with a 45 comes up a man with a rifle.....the man with with a pistol is a dead man......Or something like that.....please dont correct me with exact dialog.

I remember reading the Dollar seies books many years ago. I refer to Coffin full of dollars, milliondollar bloodhunt etc.....and what puzzled me that the main protananist was always discribed with the features of Lee Van Cleef in all the books.......Bit odd unless there was intention to get him the parts on film. Anybody else think this was odd ??

I have read or heard that the dog that appears at Sad Hill at the end was sent in by Leone to get shock reaction from Eli Wallach who was unaware of it...hence he looks spooked.........Anyone got anymore info or is it just one of those stories.......I have heard Leone liked playing practical jokes.

I don't think it dispells anything or takes away from the movie - just fun to look for those little oopses - lol.
It spoils it for me.......I thought it was all real

I just thought Blondie rode off and enjoyed his spoils ......Tuco would have to kill again in order to obtain horse to get cash bags away.....I dont read anything else into it...

I always thought it was a matter of pride for Tuco who had suffered on the hanging rope and the desert walk at the hands of Blondie.......Any cash he found after killing Blondie would be a bonus and his men would have shared it.....Tuco would have his street cred back with his men. Then go on to big and better crimes with them

When Tuco and his buddies hunt down Blondie I've always wondered what outcome Tuco had hoped for. We know he wanted the money from the hanging scam but was he really willing to split it with his mates? Perhaps Tuco was hoping Blondie would kill his 3 mates just as he ended up doing? Tuco sure didn't seem bothered about the demise of his 3 mates.
Let's say his 3 mates ended up killing Blondie, do you reckon Tuco would have shared the £4,000?
Another thought, are we sure there actually was £4000? Perhaps there were some hangings we didn't see and Tuco just said $4,000 as a nice round number to split, but secretly Tuco would pocket the extra funds, after all, we know from what we see on screen that there should have been atleast $5,000 available (2k from first scam, 3k from the 2nd)
It's an aspect of the film that I've never been sure about.
What are your thoughts?

I live in UK and remember looking in record shops for Ennio Morricone imports in the late 1960s and early 70s....Mainly only from record shops in the West End. Very little was avaialble as he was mainly unknown. It was great fun finding the odd gem ...............Now he has whole sections to himself on CD. My pride of place was Album Best of Ennio Morricone with Cowboy Hat on cover featuring his Western Scores ( One of the first I beleive). Anyone remmeber this ?

What do you think is the deciding criteria as to when you should fan a gun or just pull the trigger during a shoot out?
ICE
Fanning has no practical use whatsoever in real life.I have seen people nearly shoot their feet t off doing so.It is suited to the professinal performer and films...........It looks real cool but you will not find it of any practical use in a real gunfight .

Correlation is not causation. Those who go after the gold are already in high risk occupations (soldiers and bounty hunters). They are likely to die early regardless. For whatever reason, illicit fortunes do not attract people from safer occupations (merchants, insurance adjusters, Leone Board posters).
Blondie /Manco is is in a high risk occupation you either win and survive or you are dead ...Thats why they get the money that most people would take at least 3 years to earn (fOR A FEW DOLLARS MORE )
