There's a problem in the UK with red and grey squirrels - but not as bad as Red Alert make out and certainly not the fault of the greys.  Anyway I made a little video on You Tube about it.
enjoy it and hopefull I've not made a typo and directed you all to a porn video!

I was talking about riding in sw's in general - not just in FFDM ! :)

There's lots of things that make a good rider - maybe some of the most important are; consideration for the horse; soft hands; no thumping in the saddle and no booting ribs with spurs!  The two that seem to be most at one with horses are Lee Van Cleef and Terrence Hill - they always have an automatic and considerate pat for the horse when they mount or dismount.

sometimes you see some who appear good riders and then later you're praying that it was just a director not understanding horses.  I used to belong to a Dark Ages re-enactment group and we all pulled our punches (the physical ones anyway!) - maybe a really cute rider could look as if he's jarring the horse in the mouth of kicking hard with his spurs but this would be much, much harder than it looks.  Getting a horse to fall on it's left shoulder would be childs play - well almost!

I'll have to have another look at some of the films again....

By this point Eastwood would have had seven years experience riding on the tv series Rawhide, so odds are he is probably the best rider.
an experienced rider dosn't necessarily make a good rider.  Not that i'm suggesting Clint Eastwood isn't...just...!

Off-Topic Discussion / Re: Football World Cup Finals Germany 2006
« on: July 01, 2006, 03:01:50 AM »
Match fixing, no matter which countries are involved or how it's done, takes the enjoyment out of the game for the majority of footie lovers.  It seems a shame that things that happend in the past can still have an impact on what should be a great game - sepecially the World Cup.

England - Paraguay 2-1
Poland - Ecuador 1-1
Germany - Costa Rica 1-0

That doesn't make it acceptable to have them killed in a barbaric way for our entertainment.
Please excuse one liners but I have a bad back at the moment! :)

Its so amusing how both Sid and Bernie both well into their middle ages pass off their virginal but equally aged girlfriends off as their "aunties" in pursuit of Babs and the other young college girls who unbelievably fall for their charms. They would never be allowed to get away with this nowadays!
The sight of Sid James in a hippy wig and beads is pretty unforgetable too!
It's funny when you watch them, now and again but it loses something in description?
