And if you've seen me in Sabata you'll know that my instrument shoots too! ;D
Enough Banjo - you'll run out of ammunition!

It's going to be hard to beat Banjos list - I'm not even going to try.  I'm joining those of eclectic taste; Xenakis, Schtokhausen, Steve Reich etc ; My parents used to listen to classical and I have fond memories of Peter & The Wolf and Carnival of the Animals  but I also love Satie and choral works like Faures and Verdis Requiem...Having said that I used to be taken to punk gigs at Art School (my mum was a mature student at Camberwell) so I got into Sex Pistols and X-Ray spex etc from rather an early age! I used to collect all the glasses too and get a penny for pint glasses and a hapenny for half pint glasses...I'm sure I developed my liking for real ale then too!  I'm most into folk / blues singer song writers/ groups - Fernhill (old line up) and Julie Murphy on her own; vin Garbett; John Gorka; john Renbourn.  Also traditional music from other countries.
Of other bands ; Jethro Tull, some glam rock (when in very silly mode!); New Model Army; Velvet Underground; Iggy Pop and let's see bands I used to like but haven't listened to in years are The Birthday Party; Theatre of Hate and Bauhaus.
I'm always interested in hearing new music but so far have not been able to get into jazz or the really self indulgent blues maybe because they would be better to join in with (not that I can play).  Music to slash your wrists too - well first place has to go to Jackie Leven, Elvis and Tom Jones.  My real hate is that nausiating, nice, sort of music you get piped out in shopping malls (but then shopping malls are prety horrendous anyway!)
Chart music seems by and large a waste of time - purely a money making scheme; not to mention the fact it's all based on looks with there being seemingly little or no need for any talent.

Off-Topic Discussion / Animal training / cruelty
« on: May 24, 2006, 04:45:06 AM »
When did the laws regarding animal cruelty start, in particular the ones about trip wires and horses?  Having asked that I know most of them are trained to fall as most horses fall to the left.
Sometimes though the question is when is an animal not regarded as an animal; should we really shoot/kill snakes or rabbits just for the sake of a film?
Which actors really care for animals and which see them as a prop?

Attention Sid and Babs admirers-Carry On Dicks on Channel 4 this afternoon! :o
Nearly a Freudian slip there I think Banjo...!  Guess you're a tit and bum man then?!  Don't you guys think tit, bum and tum man has a better ring to it? :-*
I think the whole p.c thing has gone too far even on non human issues, apparantly blind people now prefer to be called visually impared and you could be considered treading on sensitive ground to refer to them as blind.  I used to work for a charity where rather stupidly the word comes up in the name but we couldn't refer to them as that!  Anyway, enough of my rambling, as long as people remain sensitive to the feelings of others that's ok; we should all be able to take a joke as long as there's no malice in it and there wasn't in any of the Carry Ons.  Maybe it's the Irish blood in me but then I'm part German too not to mention stiff Brit, so...! ;D

Now look guys lets face it your willy is hardly the best looking part of your anatomy - however good looking the rest of you is deemed to be!  The end of the Full monty was funny because they did not show their little packages!  :-*
The majority of females do not go to see films because there's a dishy bloke in it.  there maybe a small amount of very young ones that will go to see a film just because it's got the likes of Brad Pitt in it but not many.  When you get past that age you realise they're too in love with themselves to be good looking - give me a Django, Trinity or Strider (not Aragon) character anyday!
If you really want to attract more females keep an element of fun there - not that there isn't but!  ;)
As for doing the full monty to help in your acting career surely you are worth more than that and your acting is better than that...? ;)
Now my horse and I are off, if only he'll stand still enough to let me on!
