The Good, The Bad and The Ugly / Re:Setenza? Angel Eyes? The Bad? Lee Van Cleef?« on: May 01, 2003, 10:54:40 AM »
you're right, aaronson: sentenza means what you said.
For "angel eyes", this is a "mistake": Leone wanted Henry fonda for the role, and fonda had, as you know, blue eyes. That's why the character is called angel eyes. He just kept his name after that fonda refused the role. 6531
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly / Re:THE PONCHO...« on: May 01, 2003, 10:51:23 AM »
Sergio Leone himself said (in an intervew with Joel Simsolo) that gbu was the prolog of the others. After Gbu, clint goes in the south.
Sergio said that the right order is: 1 gbu 2 fod 3 ffdm If you look at the weapons used in the 3 movies, that can be the right order: in gbu, clint uses a colt navy 1851, lee van cleef a remington army (the confederate model, i think). Those weapons were really used since the civil war (in the 1860's). In fod, everybody has a peacemaker, and ramon has a winchester (i don't know the model: 66, 73, 76 or 94, but it must be the 73 or 76). The peacemaker, which real name is colt army 73, was used after 1876. In ffdm, mortimer has a buntline special, used after 1895. We all know that Leone isn't always realistic with the weapons, but that works with those 3 movies. 6532
Once Upon A Time In America / Re:Sergio Leone opus and french serious critic« on: April 01, 2003, 07:53:13 AM »
i understand what you mean... It is your opinion. For me, cinema is an art too, but the way you tell the stroy is (for me) as important as the story. I think you anderstood my opinion.
Just wondering: what are you exactly? what does exactly "half french" mean? And you can't include ennio.... you HAVE to include him. 6534

For a Few Dollars More / Re:The Man With No Name« on: March 31, 2003, 08:41:22 AM »
I don't know what you are exactly saying: i don't i don't know what does monco means in english. Here is what i know about the man with no name's name
![]() Eastwood's name in french is : "le manchot", which means somebody with only one hand (may be it is the same with "monco" in english, i've no idea). At the begining of the movie, he keeps one arm hidden under his poncho (and like that he can surprise some guys and kill them in drawing with the hidden hand). 6536
