For a Few Dollars More / The wrist brace!

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I never did figure out what the wrist brace was for! At first I thought it was for somebody who shoots a lot, but then I heard that it had something to do with damage he took to his hand in A Fistful of Dollars, but I don't remember anything happening to his hand in A Fistful of Dollars. What is it really for? And, also, why does Indio shake it in front of Clint's face after he's caught him trying to make off with the bank money and say, "You never should've shot the apples off that tree." Did the brace somehow tell Indio for sure that Manco was a bounty killer?

Is it any good? I'm thinking of getting it on netflix. I'll probably get it regardless of what you say. But I'd just like to know your opinions on it.

EDIT: I added a poll to see which ones you guys like the most. I can see Gunsmoke or Bonanza any time I want because they're always on TVland. Of the two that I've seen, I prefer Gunsmoke. But I won't vote until I've seen Rawhide.

I give The Godfather part II a very, very slight edge over Once Upon A Time In America. Godfather II is my third favorite movie. OUATIA is my fourth. But I still probably need to see OUATIA again.
