The way I see it, Don't look Now is the missing link between Peckinpah's experiments and a whole new school of editing that I have trouble finding a word for, but here are some of the films I include in it:
- Maybe even the "blue flashes/close ups" in Kieslowski's Trois Couleurs : Bleu
Speaking of which, for the 4K, how could they fuck up the blue in a film called Bleu ? https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Three-Colors-Blue-4K-Blu-ray/327469/#Review

Miller's Crossing (1990) - A great retelling of Red Harvest/Yojimbo/A Fistful of Dollars with maybe some Le Doulos tossed in there. Excellent all around and gets better every time I see it. A-
Uh . . . The Glass Key? You couldn't mention that one (and it's the nearest match)?

La ragazza di Bebo (1963) - 8/10. Cardinale, 84, was in Rome last month for the Italian presentation of a newly restored version of Luigi Comencini?s 1963 film "La ragazza di Bube" (?Bebo?s Girl?), about a small-town girl who stands by her man, even after he is convicted of a crime and goes to jail.
?Bebo?s Girl,? which earned Cardinale her first prestigious acting award, Italy?s Nastro d?Argento for best actress, will be shown on Friday at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the first in a 23-film retrospective honoring the Tunisian-born Italian actress that runs through Feb. 21. It is one of a handful of times that the museum has presented a tribute to a living actor in its more than 90-year history. NYT/2 Feb. 23 At MoMA last night, I saw this with Mrs. J. She wasn't keen: a little too old timey for her. I liked it a lot (first-time viewing): Claudia plays a tough, sexy woman, and she's in every scene. And she got to use her own voice! The restoration, to my eyes, was flawless. I hope there's a blu coming.

The MoMA retro has begun. NYT preview: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/02/02/movies/claudia-cardinale-moma-retrospective-cinecitta.html?You have to be a subscriber to read it in it entirety, but here's the money quote: Cardinale has said that ?Fitzcarraldo? was the adventure of her life, but during an interview last month, she said she had no particular favorites. ?My God, I?ve done some many, I don?t know which one I prefer,? she said, and laughed again. ?Maybe ?Once Upon a Time in the West,?? she said, ?and then so many others.?

I'm always looking out for stuff like this of course. Alternative TV-versions etc. No luck so far.
But 2023/2024 will be superb years regarding Peckinpah releases. I am working on big stuff. Wish I could talk about it, but I can't of course. I never reveal anything before the labels make the announcement...
We don't always see label announcements, so if you'd be good enough, when they make one, copy it and add it here.

Well I got the Gaumont DVD but you can watch it if you put in your browser - Chair de Poule 1963 ok.ru
However there's no subtitles but it's an easy story to follow, if you got questions just ask.
Does the Gaumont DVD have subtitles?

Never seen the original. Never want to. Saw TG: M twice in the theater in IMAX. 10/10 both times.
