For a Few Dollars More / Re:Greatest Movie Of All Time
« on: October 21, 2004, 07:24:31 PM »
It's a great movie but not Sergio's best.   Though on a level with Fistfull and a great follow-up in that regard.  Col. Mortimer is a great character, and it's good to know Sergio realized smoking pot lead to crime.

I think it was Clint's best directing job.    I got goose bumps when Eli showed up.

Best Non-Leone Clint?  Dirty Harry.

Runner up is probably Play Misty or Magnum Force.

He's fantastic in all three Leone appearances.   Coolest work any actor ever did.

Miller's Crossing is one of the ten best films of the nineties.

Once Upon A Time In The West / Re:Eastwood as Harmonica
« on: October 21, 2004, 06:51:12 PM »
Clint was approached for Harmonica.  Remember Sergio had American investors now and Clint was Box Offfice.   I think it was best for everyone and the movie that Clint turned it down.   Clint could have done it, but he had too much Man with No Name Cred to really become Harmonica.  At the same time, it's clear that Harmonica has about a dozen Man with No Name lines throughout the movie.

In any event, the Man with No Name wouldn't need Cheyenne to rescue him from a train.

She is one of the most beautiful women in film history she's Tunisian.   Salma Hayek is about as close as we get to her today.  Salma hasn't had her Jill McBride role.
