I watched this after seeing it on Eddie Muller's top 25 list. I didn't know what the movie was about so i didn't go into with any expectations. Its not a bad movie. I read the comments in this thread and I agree that you can either make excuses for it by psychoanalyzing it or just plain like it for what it is. If you want to look at this movie as a straight up project without the psychoanalysis, it has a very implausible plot. Running away from the first accident was a stretch to me. THEN, the second accident. How convenient. To me a better film would've had Al and the girl pull off the impersonation, get the money, then things come apart. It would've added at least 30- 45 minutes more to the film also. As is, i rank this about a 6.5 also out of 10.
