One thing I like a lot about Leone movies is that he would spend 30 minutes introducing characters one by one as seperate, irrelevant stories and then seemlessly transist into a plot that slowly connects them all perfectly, which is where the true plot begins.  8) Amazing...

I'd have to say my favorite is OUATITW. Done to perfection. The music is so diverse and emotionally provocative and the characters are so unique and defined.
Frank's introduction gives me shivers up the spine every time I see it.

Once Upon A Time In The West / Cheyenne and Morton's train
« on: February 19, 2005, 09:46:01 PM »
Something has boggled me since I first seen OUATITW.

Was Cheyenne on Morton's train and was rescued by his gang or was he put on a prison train, rescued and then him and his gang hijacked Morton's train?

If he was on Morton's train, why?

...The second and third time seeing it? When I watched it for the first time it ended at 3:30 AM and I was really drowsy and had a hard time following the story with all of the names, so the surprise with Max at the end really didn't have the effect it should've had when I watched it the second time through, which was when I was able to follow the story :(

Though even if I seen it wide awake I'm sure I would've had a hard as hell time figuring it out since it's so long and if you miss a word two and there's confusion about who is who tor two you miss a lot.

Off-Topic Discussion / Pink Floyd's The Wall

I don't see it mentioned in movie circles too much and I would think most Leone fans have seen it or have enjoyed it, but I really haven't seen it mentioned around here even though there's hundreds of "movies Leone fans would like".

I always thought of it on the level of Leone's "troubled, lonely character" stories like OUATITW and OUATIA. I think it's very similar to Leone's films in more ways than one even though it's very different in countless other ways. Very little dialogue, surreal visuals, unsanitized content, unanswered questions, important music, disturbed main character, etc.

What do you think? It's probably my favorite film tied with OUATIA.
