I spoke to Frayling and he said he did the commentary for the GBU, but it will be released on Blue Ray or HD or something to that effect. Meaning that there will be more re-releases of the films in the future. Thats how they get the fans of any film. They dont put everything on 1 dvd, they make you buy all the dvds in order for you to get everything!

In regards to the opening scene of affod. I've seen it shown with an opening where Eastwood is sitting in front of the desk of some
authority person, I always figured it was a prison warden. (Yuma prison maybe) Eastwood is being told that he is to go to a mexican
town and clean up the trouble there. In return for this he will be given his freedom. If however he decides to take the assignment and
then merely escape he will be hunted down like a dog for the rest of his short life. The scene then cuts to the one that always starts the
movie now with Eastwood's shadow on the ground as he rides his mule. I haven't seen the movie shown with this opening scene in many
years and as far as I know there is nothing about it on dvd.

The person in that scene whose face you don't see is not Eastwood, and Leone had nothing to do with that scene.

ABC television contracted for the fake prologue, to give "righteous meaning" to Joe's actions.  See the extra on the 2-disc DVD, a fan bought a recorder for the TV debut, and saved his tape.  I told this to the wife and she said, sounds like you, guy probably still has his same tan corduroy jacket - which he did !!!

Yep, that's the scene I was talking about. I never new about it being a 3d party prologue. Thanks for the info.

RE: the stills of Indio&gang with the women: the Cinema Retro magazine's Special Edition on The Dollars Trilogy says that these stills were of a scene -- Indio's gang cavorting with women at their hideaway -- that was shot but not included in the movie, and whose film is thought to be lost. (I posted this same response in another thread, but just thought I'd post it here again cuz that matter is discussed here in this thread as well  )
