I hear DJ was at MoMA the other day? Now on the run? https://www.nytimes.com/2022/03/12/nyregion/moma-stabbing.html
Hey, man, have they got the new 4K UHD edition on disc? I hear that's really good (but I'll stay pat with my blu-ray steelbook from the UK).
I believe I have these two blu-rays http://www.dvdbeaver.com/film3/blu-ray_reviews56/casablanca_blu-ray.htm (just the discs, not all the boxset with the tchotchkes).Anyway, how about we spend a day at the museums -- Lauder & the Whitney. Maybe a movie at night if Film Forum is playing something good.I can go on a Sunday -- maybe Thanksgiving Sunday or the following week.cj is a Hopper guy -- maybe he'll wanna join, too?
Sorry, man, I'm heading to Seattle tomorrow and I'll be gone about 3 weeks. Mid-December is the earliest I can do anything around here.
Instead we went to Ronald Lauder's Neue Galerie - I like to go every once in a while, to visit the Woman in Gold and some of the other nice Klimts.
Hey, Mr. Klimt Fanatic, any comment on this: https://www.barrons.com/news/eco-protesters-pour-black-liquid-on-klimt-painting-in-vienna-museum-01668511209
it turns out they are now showing a bunch of stuff from Lauder's personal collection unrelated to that genre. For example, lots of knight armor and statues I don't care about - but upstairs I walked into this little corner room and almost dies: it's an entire room dedicated to Casablanca! It's mostly posters/lobby cards, etc. - I counted something like 60 of 'em -- and also the famous LETTERS OF TRANSIT! (passports for Bergman and Henreid). And in the room you hear Sam playing AS TIME GOES BY. No photography is allowed in the Neue Galerie so I could'?t take any pics.
