you know they now have a page for every concert they ever did https://metallica.com/tour/past

for every show since 2004, you can purchase the audio recording. And plenty of these shows have pics and videos. It's an awesome, awesome site. Remember the concerts forever  >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D >:D

I'll probably my recordings of all the concerts I've been at (April 20, 2004; January 29, 2009; November 15, 2009; May 17, 2017) but for the other concerts, there are still tons of videos that I enjoy watching. And plenty more on YouTube  O0

is it annoying any non-Metallica fans here that we're discussing Metallica concerts in this Morricone concert thread? I thought this place could use a little bit of RUMBLING  >:D but seriously, if y'all prefer I can split this discussion off into a separate Metallica topic

Personally, I don't care, the board is very slow anyway. Yes, I have those  pro audio recordings from the concerts I saw (15 june 2004, 8 may 2012), as well as Met on Tour videos.

Going back to the topic (hey, just now noticed it was me who started it), looks like I'll be going to Budapest in october to see Ennio for the 4th time... I'll tell him you said "hi".

I had so much fun at the Metallica concert last week that I decided to go see them again. I am going to see them on July 5 in Orlando, Florida, at Camping World Stadium, better known as the Citrus Bowl. I have been to four Metallica concerts in arenas (Nassau Coliseum in Long Island in 2004, 2009, and 2017; Madison Square Garden in New York City in 2009), but this will be my first stadium concert - for Metallica or any other band  :) >:D

So I'll say hi to Metallica for you, and you say hi to Morricone for me  ;)

Metallica will be touring Europe during parts of next fall, winter, and spring https://www.metallica.com/tour No Serbia dates are scheduled as of now, but you can see them in Budapest on April 5. (Regular tickets are sold out, but I am sure you can get on the secondary market.) They also may add more dates; maybe they'll come to Serbia  >:D >:D >:D

How did it compare with the NY show?

How did it compare with the NY show?

Stadium is a different feel from an arena, of course.

The setlist was better in NY. But there is no such thing as a bad setlist at a Metallica show.

Volbeat, a good Danish band, opened both shows.

I was right near the stage, again. I will post vids to YouTube and share the links here when I get back to NY.

Went to Madeira Beach today, on the Gulf Coast; at a baseball game in Tampa Bay (actually, St. Petersburg) now.

We had great weather - not a drop of rain for two days!  :)

Note a drop of rain here in Arizona either, for last 3 months.  Only 116F today though.

No rain here in Seattle, either. 73 degrees F. No humidity. Very, very pleasant.

Here are a couple of great videos I got at the Metallica concert:

Master of Puppets:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Yq1b_K39ZA4&feature=youtu.be

Seek and Destroy:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ch8bKE5SUuk

For you Morricone/non-Metallica fans, are a few good videos I found on YouTube of the Ecstasy of Gold intro at this concert:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=coJUNzcZ8L4

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PLt8OiPxMzM

By the way .... If any of you have never really listened to Metallica, because you assume it's just crazy heavy shit and can't be enjoyable to non-heavy-metal fans, just know that they have plenty of great melodic songs, ballads, and other music that is very appealing to fans of more mainstream music. If you're interested, lemme know and I can provide links to a few songs (e.g., "Nothing Else Matters," "Enter Sandman") that fans of lighter music can enjoy. (Some of their hardcore fans accuse them if selling out and becoming more mainstream after their first few albums of very heavy music ...)

Here is another video I took - bassist Robert Trujillo playing "Anasthesia," a mind-blowing bass solo by the late Cliff Burton (Metallica's first bassist, who died in a tragic auto accident in 1986 at the age of 24), whose image appears on the screen in the background. It starts at 0:44 of this vid https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OeCx7uLwHG8&feature=youtu.be
