The Angel Eyes voice is close enough for my liking!

that guy sounds closer to Lee Van Cleef then Eli Wallach sounds like Tuco after Forty years.

As for most annoying scene ever in Leone history...
I would have to go with those over-long shots of every characters face after Noodles comes back from his night with debra(after he raped her) In "Once Upon a time in America". It is dead silence for like a whole minute and it just cuts to different shots of faces, Fat Moe, Max, Noodles, Cockeye, Patsy etc. The whole deal was totally unnecessary. I know it is Leone parodying(is that a word?) himself but it was just unfunny. >:(

I've heard that the coffee stirring/faces scene was De Nero's own idea as an hommage to Sergio. Leone liked it, shot it and kept it in. I quite like it.

yea I though AE's dub was better than  Eastwood-Wallach dudding their own.

You are talking the english dub right?
Wallachs was pretty much the same throaty tone!

if it was Deniro's idea he must have seen a bunch of leone films when he was hired to do "America" because according to Martin Scorcese, Robby knew nothing about leone and had never seen a film of his.

And I agree with you on young noodles's annoying smirk.

When De Niro agreed to be in OUATIA, Scorcese ( who's a huge fan of Sergio ) lent him his own personal film reel of OUATITW. Before the film De Niro knew nothing about Leone. After the film, he understood Sergio's cinematic style.

Hi, I'm new around here and thought I'd put in my two cents.

One thing I didn't like in a Leone movie is near the end of OUATITW. Right after Harmonica shoots Frank, it cuts to Jill and Cheyene in the house. I've always disliked that. Luckily it cuts back to Harmonica and Frank fast enough that it didn't COMPLETELY ruin it, but I would greatly prefered it if Leone didn't cut to them at all.

I also didn't like the Juan/rape scene in DYS. It dosen't bother me as much in GBU when it says Tuco commited rape, for two reasons. One, MAYBE that was something that he was wrongfully accused of, and two, because I dind't find him that likable of a character anyways and don't see him as the hero of the movie like Juan in DYS.

I agree i think this kinda scene(also in OUATIA) in any movie is badly thought out and demeans the film-a lot more should be left to the imagination without affecting the storyline or brilliance of the filmmaking.

I change my mind about the ending of OUATIA, I have no problem with it now.

A few scenes I would like to say:

- The rape in OUATIA.  Now I think it was necessary for the story, but I can barely sit through it, it's so hard to watch.  I didn't mind the rape in DYS so much for some reason, perhaps because it was done in a comic way (nor the rape of Carrol for that matter), but Deborah did absolutely nothing to deserve her rape.
- FAFDM - the hotellier's wife.  That's already been said, but she's an ugly cow, not to mention extraordinarily annoying.
- I agree with BeauBatabi about the cut to Jill/Cheyenne during the Frank/Harmonica duel in OUATITW - completely unnecessary and detracts from the moment.
- The last battle scene in DYS was handed very sloppily IMO.  The death of Sean was too drawn-out though Coburn played it very well.
- Not really a scene, but: The dialogue in FOD is horribly written and often times sounds like a "Godzilla" film.  "But what if you hand should tremble slightly?  And that gringo so fast on the draw!"  Learn sentence structure, please!  "You mean you don't admire peace?"  Uh, okay. . . And don't get me started on the dubbing.

Why is it neceassary-surely this could've been handled in a much less offensive way.Consider the old Hammer Dracula movies-when Christopher Lee was about to devour one of his victims you would only see him raise his cloaked arm over the poor girl-we all know he was plunging his gnashers into her neck-and somehow i found this more effective than seeing all the blood and gore detail of the later horror movies. The best and scariest Alien movies is when you saw very little of the creature with most of the anxiety left to the imagination.
Why couldn't Leone have shown a much shortened rape away from the taxi in a silhoetted form so you would mainly get the audio-and the rest of the story would've remained in tact?
I'd be very careful Groggy about your comment about whether a rape is deserved :-[

Surely the point of Deborah's rape scene is to make the audience uncomfortable, no? SL wants us to lose sympathy for Noodles at that point. He's not a nice guy, he's a thug. SL communicates this efficiently with his virtuoso filmmaking.

I don't like the scenes in A Fistful of Dollars.mario Brega shot at  child(jesus) to scare. It was not necessary.
also the massacre scene is terrible.ramon kills with machine gun all soldiers.they die so fake.Acting is no good.It was a good idea to put camera onto machine gun but the editing also makes this scene poor ans slow.
For a few Dollars More , There is  a scene where clint is looking the safe and mortimer turn up the light Clint's face painted the black color(just like the silent movies in1900)Sergio leone wanted show us  Clint's eyes in darkness. It was unbelieveable that how massimo dallamano shot this scene. There is no cinematography at that scene. They should use special eyes lights
And I hate Once Upon A Time in America. He should not make this movie after so many years. It is like a dinosaur.Big fat one.God Forgives..I Don't  is much better than OUATIA.
of course these are just my thoughts:)

Virtuoso filmaking-total and utter bollocks!
We can be made to feel uncomfortable and lose sympathy for Noodles without all the graphic detail-Leone is guilty of gross overkill here and and a few other places-remember the overblown urinal scene in MNIN? :(

Agreed.  That should be a very good scene, but the complete and utter lack of blood (I mean they're being machine gunned!) and the theatrical fakeness of the soldiers' deaths ruins that scene for me.

Heated debate now. Although I hate it, and have sat through screenings with female friends who can't watch it, the rape scene in OUATIA is as essential as the same scene in GUI LA TESTA is clumsy, stupid, gross, vulgar, utterly pointless and all too telling of Italian macho sensibilities of that era. In that scene Noodles not only destroys the audience sympathy with his dim witted character, Leone also shows with no way back, exactly why Deborah and Noodles split so dramatically.

No Hammer Horror style coyness (which was due entierly to British censorship attitudes (which meant their films were constantly cut no matter what they did!) than artistic considerations, and anyway, see the disgusting rape sequence in FRANKENSTEIN MUST BE DESTROYED) could have made such a schism convincing. Leone shows it, and shows it again. Revolting stuff yes, but part of the visceral power of the film. Without such a dramatic event, Deborah's repudiation of Noodles would have made no sense, especially as the film is seen almost entierly from Noodles' point of view.
