This is a Kipogo:

I'm sure either you don't write character characterization (lol, is that even correct?) for your father's video games or he went bankrupt in the meantime. Or most likely - both.

It's correct in French, no idea about how to say that in English :)

The oscar hate already started. Saw a Facebook status today saying "la la land sucks" with at least 20 agreeing comments. Before the nominations I didn't hear one thing but praise

I have not seen the film but as I started to use the library computer at the school I attend, I accidentally control+v and this came up:

Quote
This ‘mall montage’ scene from the movie Crazy, Stupid, Love can be viewed as a form of representation of the American culture as it has many aspects of it that can be interpreted as what one believes is the traditional american culture. First of all, right at the very beginning of the scene, we see this tall, mysterious and good looking man in a well fitted suit and sunglasses eating a pizza, which initially, pizza is already a direct symbol to what is thought of as the “American culture”. This symbol, yet quite irrelevant to the scene, does in fact play a role of symbolic importance as fast food is definitely representative of the American culture

Shame that was all that came up.

At the British Academy Film Awards last night La La Land won five awards - best film, Emma Stone best actress, Damien Chazelle best director, Justin Hurwitz best original music and Linus Sandgren best cinematography.  Ryan nowhere to be seen.

Nicole Kidman nice dress.  Some of the thank you speeches and jokes overly political which I suppose is not really surprising in view of world events.

And what did The Good The Bad and The Ugly, or Once Upon A Time In The West win at the British Academy Film Awards?  Case closed.

The fake announcement was even better than just losing to Moonlight: it brought the sympathy back to the La La Land team.

The only films I would rate in the 21st century are Interstellar and Sexy Beast.     :-[

Saw the movie last night.

I have zero use for musicals. But, I went out with the Hong King girl  last night, and said she wanted to go to the movies, which I found kind of hilarious because she hardly speaks any English at all and our communication is almost entirely via typing on out phones with a translation app!
So I decided that the best option was to see a musical, because even though she doesn't understand English,  at least she could enjoy the singing and dancing.

Anyway,  nothing happened in this movie to change my mind that musicals are crap.

By the way, for a musical, this does not seem to have much singing/dancing. It's basically a stupid drama with a few songs thrown in. A stupid story, with an ugly actress wth a speech impediment. She is not a good singer; Gosling is a terrible singer. There is nothing at all about Emma Stone that makes me ever want to see a movie that she is in.

Btw, re: the homage to Hollywood: Homage is best served subtly. Here, they hit you over the head with it, it's stupid.

The most famous song, the main theme, yeah I get it's a catchy tune. Fine. Overall the movie does't interest me at all. DON'T EVER GIVE UP ON YOUR DREAMS, BLAH BLAH BLAH. So fucking what.

Well maybe you actually shouldn't give up on your fucking dreams.

The film has its share of flaws, but people who don't like it tend to only talk about the first 30 minutes like it should be taken at face value. Of course it isn't, and that the whole point of the movie.

You're right about the fact that it duesnt have that much singing/dancing. The reason is it isn't really a musical. It starts like a musical and an hommage, and then destroys all of this. La La Land, cheesy glamorous Hollywood, this is all a dream. Just work your ass off, sacrifice everything and then maybe you're gonna catch some of that dream... but not the glitter shit.

The kid is better off. I am sure that 3/4 of his classmates are prettier than Emma Stone.
