I think the Angel Eyes/"Fort" scene is very important, especially for its anti-war elements. And same for scene leaving the mission, showing dead soldiers along the trail, and detailing how long a journey it would be.Scene where Tuco learns the mission is not too far is short, no need to excise.

I think it's actually Joseph Bradley in the night scene, (the station master from the opening of OATITW), not Egger, although they look very similar.
