I have been collecting spaghetti soundtracks on CD for quite a while now and although I can imagine this question being asked in the past I would like to know "what are the favorite spag soundtracks of the fans?". I am especially interested in your favorite non-morricone soundtracks, as the most of these are trival top 10 contenders.

To give this topic a start I'll kick it off with my list:

Top 10 tracks:

The sundown (GBU)
The trio (GBU)
Run man run (Big gundown)
Run man run (Run man Run)
Sabata (Sabata)
Vamos a matar companeros (companeros)
Django (Django, English vocal)
The wild bunch (my name is nobody)
Snake (Mannaja)
They call me Trinity (Titoli, They call me Trinity)

Top 10 albums:

Good bad ugly (extended)
La resa dei conti (extended)
Sabata (limited edition)
Mannaja
Django (limited edition)
My delicious spaghetti western
More delicious spaghetti western
The mercenary (definitive)
They call me Trinity
Companeros

Well, let's see what y'all com up with............

Love MORRICONE'S "GUNS FOR SAN SEBASTIAN".

the best track is
Vamas A Matar Companeros

and the best album is
Once Upon A Time In The West

as for non-morricone... i do like sabata and Quien Sabe?'s scores.

My vote would need to be GBU for soundtrack album (GDM extended version) and GBU as best film EVER for use of music, all the way through, it's just amazing.  Following that lead, I'd have to lean towards Ecstacy of Gold, because of all the Leone films it's the best example of integrating music and film to obtain the "wow".

Seems like GDM's GBU extended is THE soundtrack to have! And Although the themesong is the most recognised one, I think most fans will pick "SUndown" or "trio" as favorite track.

I do think that vamos a matar companeros, set to a good beat, could easily be a mainstream hit......it has got great potential (Like Elvis vs JXL, that worked). I mean, of course I'll take the original any day, but what if someone would "juice up" some great but lesser known spag-tracks like was done for the Morricone remixes....
Anyways, the Great silence theme is a good one too, but the album is quite short. Funny no-one lists Navajo joe's theme, which I think is entertaining too!

i like the gbu soundtrack... but how anyone could pick that over  the OUATITW soundtrack is beyond me... OUATITW is far and away the best score of all time, but the thing that really puts it above GBU is the fact that none of the songs are annoying, like the theme to GBU is at times... i would, however, have a tough time choosing between {Ecstasy of Gold/The Trio} and {Man With The Harmonica/Any Second Song From OUATITW}... Nothing against the greatness of some of the GBU tracks, but every track on OUATITW is just amazing and perfect.

Funny, for me it's just the other way round. It's the Harmonica theme that sometimes gets on my nerves.

Though, I agree with you on Sabata & Compañeros. :)
