He was great in Head.
He was also good in Paths of Glory
The Brothers Rico (1957) Director, Phil Karlson with Richard Conte, Dianne Foster, Larry Gates, James Darren, Argentina Brunetti, Paul Picerni, and Rudy Bond. An entertaining Noir using the "you can't just quit the mob and expect to have everything come out smelling like roses" storyline. Doesn't quite have the great sets and locations of "Nightfall" but Conte keeps it interesting in this tale of a brother trusting in the mob and trying to save his siblings.
I wanted to see this ever since I read about it in O'Shaolan's book. I think is perfect except for the children double byline and the finale.
Savant reviews the new Olive Films collection:http://www.dvdtalk.com/dvdsavant/s4026noir.html
Maybe we could form a gang to procure Blu-Ray money.
