I thought i would've already commented on this. This was a great movie. I tend to almost lump this movie, along with High Plains Drifter, into the 3 westerns that Eastwood made with Leone. Pale Rider is very similar also. The plot of this movie is what stood out. Simple, revenge. It was straight to the point and didn't try to be cute. Not as popular as most Eastwood westerns, but i think its one of his best. It kinda reminds me of The Oxbow Incident, which MIGHT be the inspiration behind this movie because Eastwood said The Oxbow Incident is his favorite western...
The only fault was the inclusion of the love story, that was almost always in American Westerns, Leone commented of this saying that it slowed American Westerns down, think of it if it had been a Leone film, and we would have had the time to get to the last warrants that Cooper had to serve too.
