Yes and no, since one could argue that the point is not the script but what HAPPENS on the set. And what did hapopen on the set? exactly what the actors made/TOLD. Which would lead to the conclusion that the original version of most SW would be a version with all the actors speaking in their language.

Me and Dave Jenkins already had a discussion on this. You might be true if what happens on the set were under the director's control, but Leone had none because Leone couldn't order two scrambled eggs in english. To know what he thought the dialogues had to be and find a corrispondence in visual and linguistic plans you have to watch the movies dubbed in italian.

yeah but I would have to understand Itailian first. The english subtitles are the same lines as the english audio.

You can always learn it. You already know what "spaghetti" means. That's a good start.

cute.

I'am learning little by little. a friend lent me those tapes where you listen while your sleeping. not sure if they are working but whatever...
the language isnt that far from spanish so I can understand it if one is speaking to me. But when I listen to somebody speaking another language I usually pick up what they are saying and understand...I dont translate it to english in my mind. If you get my meaning.
So listening to the dvds in itailian will not give me a good idea of what sergio was trying to put out.

Since he was in charge of the french and english versions, there is no real importance...
(exept the fact that he could speak french fluently but was a little less fluent in english as you may know ::))
