hell this looks like a hella good game.

but it also is a complete rip off of the outlaw jose wales, which does annoy me. its not really based on GBU or any of the other spaghetti westerns, the only thing thats simelar is the guns and costumes. its more a rip off of the 70s westerns directed by eastwood

Josey Wales is a standard revenge movie. a common theme in the sw genre. so in reality the game is based on sw. not Josey Wales.

Anybody got Manny Quinn yet in Red Revolver? Mildly amusing Wooden cowboy.  ;D

isnt that your reward for beating the game on Bounty Hunter mode?
Thats tough to do. I got mostly all the levels on Bounty hunter  sussed but the Pig Josh level on that mode is ridiculous!!!!

is that the one with Shannon Elizabeth voicing a character?
I played the demo of that one in a store...didnt think much of it.
It seemed to rely to much on car mini games. I just like the first person shooter motif.

I ended up digging out my copy for replay a few days ago.  Still lots of fun.  The flaws are there, but starting fresh and digging into the good, old-fashioned violence is a pleasant distraction.

It really needed to be a free-roaming enviroment as opposed to small episodic levels. I mean...the whole point of the western is that it is in open land.

"Gun" got it right with its big landscapes you can explore and such but it was missing activity. you never see any stagecoaches roll by or anything like that. and plus the game is nowhere near as fun as RDR.

here is to RDR2 (one can dream  :-\ ).

If somehow Gun and Red Dead Revolver were to cross-pollinate, you'd have a terrific game.  When it comes to atmosphere -- and a great way to simulate quick-draw showdowns -- Revolver is the clear winner, while Gun has terrific horse-riding mechanics and a real sense of space.

yeah but the space cant be empty. there needs to be a sense of some activity. I vouch for stagecoachs (that you may or may not rob) going by and army convoys carrying canons(that you may or may not destroy).

other bandits should be able to ambush (or attempt to) stagecoachs and convoys. the same goes for Indians (if you want to go there  ::)  )

also if you go to a town and shoot up the place...you should turn into a wanted man. As a wanted man whoever you speak to can be a a potential danger because they might want to turn you in. you should be able to build up fear (notoriety) and such.

that would make an excellent Spag western game!

if they can do it with the GTA series (and even that isnt perfect) they can certainly do it for western games as well.

There should be stagecoaches, trains, Indian tribes, cavalry. RDR is better than GUN. There was abrief period where I found GUN better because of the free-roaming but it gets boring. RDR is SW influenced and is much more fun.

If only they made a RDR 2 that is free-roaming like GUN but was spaghetti western influenced like RDR.

There's a new version of Gun being released for the PSP. Perhaps this bodes well for a sequel?

I'd prefer a RDR sequel because it is more like a SW. GUN is more like an American western meets Indiana Jones.
