Rub me the wrong way, and I'll go off in your face

I'd prefer a RDR sequel because it is more like a SW. GUN is more like an American western meets Indiana Jones.
There are some references to Django in "Gun". That Preacher (vioced by the guy who did Chucky the killer doll) gets his ear cut off at the very beginning by that guy with the eye patch (Mcgruder I think).

later he blows your side-kick's fingers off with a gun (reference to Great Silence maybe? either way thats really sw like).

"Gun" was good for what it was but it was too damn short. I got everything (including that armored horse) within hours.
every now and again I go back to the game to raise hell in a town but that only gets me going for about 20 minutes.

RDR has way more replay value.

yeah but the space cant be empty.

I'm of two minds about that.  On the one hand I'd like there to be more to do, but on the other hand I'm often glad that it's quiet, because then one can get a real sense of the "you are alone and free" perception that drove the American West.

Quote
there needs to be a sense of some activity. I vouch for stagecoachs (that you may or may not rob) going by and army convoys carrying canons(that you may or may not destroy).

other bandits should be able to ambush (or attempt to) stagecoachs and convoys. the same goes for Indians (if you want to go there

I could go for the stagecoach coming through, and it would be nice to see the train actually run outside of missions.  Also, what exactly is the scalping knife for, if not for scalphunting?  Add it in.  The same for buffalo hunting.

Quote
also if you go to a town and shoot up the place...you should turn into a wanted man.

I told my wife the other night that it would have been nice to have to some Fable-style options in terms of being good or bad.  The story's all right as far as it goes, but being able to approach it differently depending upon one's preference would definitely add some replay value.

There's a new version of Gun being released for the PSP. Perhaps this bodes well for a sequel?

Neversoft always said they wanted to do more than one installment of the series, and since all they seem to do these days is more Tony Hawk knockoffs, the odds seemed good.  Unfortunately sales for Gun were excreable.  If we're lucky, we'll get another that's an improvement.  If we're not....

its mostly for effect but you can scalp fallen enemies with it. Lter you get a hatchet and then finally a sword.

it doesnt do a damn thing for you though.

That's what I meant; the scalping knife doesn't add to quickdraw, impress Indians or anything.  It's just a waste of $25.

The only thing I really like about this game is the multi-player, particularly the quick draw contest.

really? I always thought that RDR's main weakness was the multiplayer games, aside from the quick draw contest of course.

the other stuff is just...well....plain. there is no surprise. just run aimlessly around until a computer or a buddy of yours whacks ya from a high cliff or something.

the strongest suite this game has is its storyline missions.

this is interesting.

this is a visual review of RDR. It contains levels that are not even in the game... such as a snow level!

for those of you with sharp eyes you will catch a few other levels that I guess never made it to the game and some characters that never appear (such as a flying character!?).

and for those who are sw fans the main theme to "Vamos a matar Companeros" is playing throughout the review.

enjoy :)

Oh wait! just got the story on this!

The game was originally Capcom's but then they scrapped the idea and gave the rights to "Rockstar" to remake it.

The version shown on the video is Capcom's version.
I dont know about you folks but Capcom's version looks superior to the model we have now. the visuals look sharper and the over all gameplay looks better (notice Red hopping on a horse during the middle of a level. you dont do that in the game we have now!).

The only complaint I have with Capcom's version is the targetting cross hairs. it looks too colorful and distracting.

hey look! RDR 2! Looks like a free roaming enviroment (finally! what the first one needed!) but the narrator doesnt mention it to be(I'm just going by observation).
The Narrator is wrong about one thing though...this is not based on the westerns of Hollywood. this looks pretty spag west to me.

Let's hope the whole "boss who can't be killed except in one particular fashion" holdover from the Capcom development team has also been revised/excised.

That looks great! I can't wait for it to come out! I hope they bring Red back, he was so freakin' cool!

I really hope they make this with SW songs and themes like the old one.
