When Indio shoots mortimers gun out of his hand near the end, why does he come down the ramp and decide to have a shootout (an unfair one at that) knowing Manco could be lurking somewhere in the background. His original idea was for Manco and the colonel to kill his gang, so he WAS expecting him to survive. Yet he looks surprised when Manco turns up. Dont believe he simply forgot him

HE may be wrapped up in the moment of defending revenge. and I think he's more surprised at the fact that Manco has a watch like his, not as much him being there. As far as the duel, he even creeps his hand nearer the holster as the chimes begin to halt. So he's just a cruel unfair guy.

Ice, although Indio hoped that Manco & Col. would kill off most/all of gang, I'm sure he'd have expected his 7 men to have killed at least one of them - hence the surprise when Manco appears!

Indio was hoping that the gang and bounty killers get caught up in a shootout while he and Nino (his boyfriend?) get away with the money.

But once he realizes the bounty killers have stolen the money, now he wants to kill them. And then when Mortimer calls him out, he realizes who he is, that he is the sister of the girl he raped, that he is gunning for him; now he has to go out and kill him
