i wouldn't put too much stock on pg+btk being 'restored' to the directors cut but it's still a dvd so... i mean the vhs directors cut and the story behind how they got that cut seems pretty straight forward to me... and i know for a fact peck's final cut didn't have the lyrics to 'knockin on heavens door' in the slim pickens scene, but i'm sure the 'directors cut' dvd will.

its about damn time they release the WILD BUNCH on a proper dvd. not a dvd that claims to be the "special" edition when the only thing special on it was the movie.
and what a horrible menu it has. the big wb logo in the background.

havent seen GABLE HOGUE  been wanting to. PGABTK is a flaWED MASTERPIECE(and i say that in a loving way).

flawed as it may be(we're all entitled to our own opinions) I put PG+BTK with Ride The High Coutry, GBU, and OUATITW as the four best westerns of all time in a class of their own... and as crazy as that sounds it gets worse, I'm not much of a fan of the wild bunch, i mean it's a great movie, but not even in the top 10 favorite peckinpah films for me, then again that still puts it up as one of the best because my fondness of peckinpah movies rivals that of my fondness for leone.

Well, I can't find any cover art for the dvd's, but hopefully some pictures will surface in the next month or two.  After a year or two of a Peckinpah boxed set being released, its great to see it finally on the horizon.  Looking forward to it.

I actually just got rid of my Wild Bunch DVD, but I hadn't heard about this. It annoyed me that they put part of the movie on one side of the disc, and the rest of the movie on the other side of the disc. I had thought I just might end up getting the widescreen VHS of it. But I'll have to see what this 2-disc version is going to be like.

Oh man, looking forward this. Haven't seen Cable Hogue yet, but the other three are all amazing films. Still, if Pat Garrett is released in a new cut, I'll be slightly disapointed. They should include the other two cuts as well.

At least we get two cuts of Billy The Kid, even though the butchered MGM is not included. I haven't seen that cut.

Wow, I really like that cover art and the box ain't too shabby either.  Those covers of The Wild Bunch and Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid are great.  Now, I'm really anxious to get my hands on these.

I just found out that a DVD of The Deadly Companions was released in Japan last year, and it was supposed to be a really good anamorphic transfer in a 'scope ratio. Then I remembered that I actually live just down the line from Japan, so last weekend I hopped a train for Akihabara and hit the shops. Came up with a copy first try, at Ishimaru. Took it home and spun the first 40 minutes of it: wow, it DOES look good. Story doesn't seem too bad, either..........

I can't wait for this set. I don't mind at all buying the Wild Bunch again to get a hold of the new doco I've been reading so much about. Look forwarding to watching the other films in the collection to.
