"The musical pocket watch"

Can anyone please, please help me with what to me is a major problem. I am desperate to find " The musical pocket watch" tune from FAFDM as a ringtone for my mobile phone. How can such a cool and classic theme not be available on a ringtone or am I just not looking in the right place. I have a Nokia 5140i and amd totally useless with phones so will need detailed idiot proof instructions if available.

  GBU has a ringtone if people are looking for it. 

  My freshman year in an early class, a student's phone went off in the middle of lecture.  The ringtone was of course, Morricone's main theme in GBU.  People around the poor guy started chuckling cause he couldn't turn it off or put it on vibrate.

  The professor got progressively madder until finally the kid got his phone off.  Needless to say, hearing the GBU theme at 8 in the morning caught me off guard.  Sorry, but I don't know anything about the FAFDM bell being in a ringtone.  I'll keep my eyes open just in case.

I dont know what kind of ringtone you are looking for but  on my SonyEricsson K700 I can transfer midi-files and use as ringtones. I've been using "The musical pocketwatch" as an alarm-ringtone for almost a year now. Being woken up in the morning by a Morricone tune beats any alarm clock! I'v also seen it named "Carillon" and "60 Seconds to what?" but they should all be variations of the same theme. You can get the file I'm using here. I also found this page if you want to try that. And Tim, I've had similar incidents... I'm using an mp3 file of the GBU theme where the screaming starts right off as ringtone for incoming calls... It happens that I forget to turn it off. It's kinda embarassing when you're on the bus or at the supermarked and your cell starts to scream followed by the GBU theme.

When you buy this edition, a remake of the watch is included. Sorry, I can't find if it has also a melody function.

Its a pretty pointless pocket watch without the melody,afterall don't most pocket watches look alike?The only reason i'd get one would be for that tune.Surely theres a fortune to be made for any jeweller or whoever that could produce one with the vibes!!

I would love to know more about the watches used in this movie, who made them, what year they were, and anything I can find out would be fantastic!

I would love a CD with the watch chimes in it, so if you know where I can get it, let me know.

Can you tell I only know watches and not movie sound tracts that well.

I have seen all of these movies, and just loved them, so I guess I will have to buy them to get the musical sound of the watch. Any help would be so appreciated.

PS I just watched all of the spaghetti westerns this week, and they just NEVER get old.

They sure don't make movies like these anymore.

I have GBU ringtone on my Nokia 5181 or something similar, a freebie phone for my $10 a month plan (free 30 minutes a month).  The plan included one free ringtone instead of the 99 cent cost.

  Oh, it definitely woke me up.  And I certainly had a hard time keeping a straight face, for the choice of ringtone (you don't hear that too often) but also the professor's genuine rage for the class disturbance.  Good times...

1. I have ringtones of:

 a) GBU (15 seconds of the opening theme);

  b) DYS (25 seconds of Edda singing the main theme); and

  c) OUATITW (15 seconds of the main theme;played on a violin or cello). I am not certain, but I believe it is actually from the "A Dimly Lit Room" Track (which is the same as the main theme, but played much slower, with fewer instruments, and no voice).

I purchased and downloaded 'em onto my phone from the AT&T ringtone store I accessed thru my phone (I got 'em like a year ago, but think it's like $2.99 each). My phone is a Samsung Impression, but I'd guess that the selection is the same for all AT&T phones.



2. On the final day of one of my "Fundamental Lawyering Skills" class, we had a pizza party at the end of the class. My professor was a very nice middle-aged woman who was an absolute sweetheart....

The delivery guy had my number, said he was gonna call me when he pulled up to the skool, so I would leave class and go downstairs to pick up the pizza.

My phone is usually set to "VIBRATE," and when it is set to ring, it's usually a pretty standard ring tone, and it's always in my pocket.

 Now, this class had only 12 students, and was held in tiny room. Plus, I sat in front, right next to the professor....

So right around the time I knew the pizza guy would be calling I take out the phone and put it on the table; set my ringtone to the GBU theme, put the volume on the highest, and wait.... Seemed like I'd been waiting forever, but it was only about ten minutes when......


    DU DU DU DU DU, WAAH WAAH WAAH

She looks absolutely stunned for about 5 seconds; then I very causally answer the phone, "Hello? yeah I'll be right down..." As the realization sets in, that sweet lady bursts out laughing so hard, she luckily just about falls into her chair, or she'da fallen onto the floor. I mean, there are tears streaming down her cheeks. I pretend to be surprised and mutter a "whoops, forgot to put it on vibrate..." Unfortunately I had to leave the room to pick up the pizza, so i missed part of the show. By the time I got came back upstairs with the pies, she still had not recovered....


She was an adjunct professor; her day job was something like "public defender for the mentally disabled." Every time she came into class, she would have a new story about her most recent client, eg. typically some lunatic who had raped a 7-year old girl;  she'd argue he was not guilty by reason of insanity, so that he'd be locked up in a nut-house instead of prison. these "clients"  spent the whole time in court making faces and cursing her out.... Lovely lady, my professor was

My opinion is why pay money for a fake replica pocket watch (yea so it plays the tune but you can program it to play any tune) so its using cell phone ringtone type technology and isn't remotely a real wind up pocket watch.  You might as well have a cell phone ring the tune, cause sorry to say this is what this add sounds like a glorified cell phone without the phone part, lol, now if you could make calls on the watch........ lol.

Here is the real deal below and what the guts of a real deal should look like , only its not playing "60 seconds to what" but how hard would it be to change that pin disc so that it does play  "60 seconds to what"? Its not rocket science its just that there is probably zero demand for a real one at a realistic (for the craftsmanship that it would take to produce the real McCoy) price.
