when i first saw AMERICA i was shocked at the scene when young DEBORAH pulls down her skirt to reveal her buttocks to young NOODLES. this was shocking because
child nudity in a film is most certainly banned here( iam almost sure that is). so this led me to believe that they used a body double.

then again i am pretty sure that scene was filmed in cinecitta and i am sure in italy they dont have much of a problem getting by the censors with child nudity.


but still... does anyone know whether this was a body double and not jennifer connelly? or did LEONE let it fly?

You can even read in the end credits: "body double for Jennifer Connelly", and it may be mentionned in some books.
 Jennifer Connelly had only eleven when she started filming, she had her 12th birthday on the set. She hadn't kissed a boy before and she couldn't stop crying (I read that in an interview of her). So SL saw he couldn't shoot the scene and he said" Well, maybe we could do that tomorrow.)
And all these scenes where shot in Rome.
