They had a kinda positive period towards the end of the first half, but that was all. They were very lucky not to get bangered with 6 or more goals...

Anyway, Banjo, those Russians weren't so bad after all.

Not half! :o

I'm only glad that England aren't having to face Russia as well as Croatia in the world cup qualifiers. :D

I've got a strong feeling that those two old wiley campaigners Italy and Germany are gonna be this years finalists.

Italy 2  Spain 1

It seems like no result can be foreseen in this tournament, so I wouldn't be amazed not to see them at all in a finale.

The best ones won. This was the only quarte of final played by two equivalent teams. I think that with Pirlo could have been a better match for Italy because Aquilani did nothing. But that reasoning leads you nowhere. It will be an interesting match in the semi for Spain with Russia.

I didn't catch yesterdays game until i watched the recording very late last night and again i was disappointed with Italy's performance, they never really got going in this tournament. Is Donadoni on his way out now?

Both Spain and Russia have been one of the bright lights so i'd like to see either of them go and and win it now.

When England are not involved i support Italy but as lasts nights game developed i had to wish for Spain to win.  Donnadoni has not had any backing today so it looks like it could have been his last game.

Lippi''ll be back on saddle first of July. Which is a solution I don't like at all. He was the trainer when at Juventus made use of drugs (the club's doctor, BTW, still being there), was involved heavily with the scandals even through his son, players agent. The man for the job should be Ancelotti, but Milan won't let him go, apparently. Donadoni sholuldn't have been there in the first place.

Did you object to Lippi before the last World Cup? ??? Though i suppose his dirty dealings may not have been made public back then.I know how strongly you felt about the match fixing scandels etc.

I'm curious as to why he never held onto his job following Italys success in 2006? :-\

Because his dirty dealings (but already those with doped Juventus should have granted him a kick off) were made public just before the beginning of the WC and he was kept in place on condition he resigned after the WC, whatever the result. The mistake was double: leave Lippi in his post and hire Donadoni (who had as his only experience in Serie A only 15 matches as a trainer before he was kicked out of his post. He was given Lippi's post only because he's friend with former Milan mate Albertini, who was put in one of the leading positions inside italian FA) after. But the problem was (and his) that the same people who were involved in these dealings (with the exception of n. 1 & 2 of Juventus, who are currently on trial) are still there (this was also because of the WC result). Italian way.

I'm pissed up having been out on the razzle all day. :P

Just about to check out the teletext   etc. :)
