I'd take what I hear on IMdB with a grain of salt, and besides, who want's a 314 minute version of this film? Isn't it long enough as it is?

Probably is. A few years ago someone on the OUATITW boards at imdb said that they were making a remake.

Would be intersting news (I doubt it muchly). Regarding a longer print then the Cannes version we have on DVD, the editor I worked for said he has seen an longer version of that cut via a Beta or low grade copy a few years back. Of course it could be that he is being confused the the Cannes version which at the time I believe wasn't then released on home video. He is sure however that it's a different version entirely. Would be great if this was true.  :o

No, it's true. Arnon Milchan ( producer ) said it himself that the deleted scenes from the film exist and he knows where they are. The problem is that some, if not all, have no audio. He said that they should be released in the United States eventually.

Well here's the IMDB thread in question:

http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0087843/board/nest/44294654

It doesn't seem like a joke or deliberate hoax, but since it seems unsourced, I'd take it with a grain of salt.  Still, it's not completely outlandish, just unlikely.  I'd very much like the De Niro-Leone-Woods commentary.

It seems like a hoax. Under commentaries it lists Sergio Leone.   ::)

But if this DVD comes out I'll be one of the first to own it.
